"You Have Killed Me"
(Morrissey/Jesse Tobias)

This song was very likely written shortly before or during the recording sessions for the "Ringleader Of The Tormentors" album, which took place at Forum Music Village in Rome between September and November 2005, with producer Tony Visconti. Musicians on this recording were Boz Boorer (guitar), Alain Whyte (guitar), Jesse Tobias (guitar), Gary Day (bass), Matt Chamberlain (drums) and Michael Farrell (keyboards).

Late Night With Jimmy Fallon 3 October 2012 [web video]
The main feature of this television appearance was a performance of "To Give (The Reason I Live)". The latter number was broadcast on television, but this performance of "You Have Killed Me" which was recorded the same day could only be viewed on the programme's webpage. Both songs are circulated on video and audio bootlegs but, because of its source, "You Have Killed Me" is more scarcely found and in inferior quality.
3News 11 December 2012 [web video]
The main feature of this television appearance was a performance of "I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris". The latter number and a portion of a Morrissey interview were broadcast on television, but this performance of "You Have Killed Me" which was recorded the same day could only be viewed on the programme's webpage, alongside the full unedited interview. Both songs and the interview are circulated on video and audio bootlegs but, because of its source, "You Have Killed Me" is more scarcely found and in inferior quality.

This song has been done in concert a total of 278 times by Morrissey, which places it in the top 10 of his 'live hall of fame', a feat even more impressive considering the fact that it only dates back to 2006. Each and every audience was treated to it on the Tour Of The Tormentors MMVI. It remained a setlist fixture at the start of the Greatest Hits tour, until late September 2007 after which Morrissey started to sing it less and less often. The final performance on the latter tour was on the very first live date of 2008. The song was given a complete break on the 2009 tours, but returned with a vengeance as it was played each and every night on the 47-date tour of 2011 and the 56-date 2012 tour. It was played 11 times out of the 15 concerts given in 2013 before Morrissey fell ill and that tour got cancelled. It was only done nine times on the 2014 tour, twice in the USA and 7 times in Europe.
