"Good Looking Man About Town" (Morrissey/Alain Whyte)
This song is credited as having been recorded with producer Tony Visconti at Forum Music Village in Rome in the autumn of 2005, which corresponds to the recording session for the album "Ringleader Of The Tormentors" (September-November 2005). However the drummer is credited as being one Maurizio Mazi instead of Matt Chamberlain who worked on the Ringleader session(s), and instead of Matt Walker who would drum on the material recorded later in 2006. Alain Whyte is also credited as having played guitar and supplied back vocals on this recording. This means that the song may have actually been recorded at a later session, still in Rome, after Matt Chamberlain had finished his studio work, but before Matt Walker joined the band for the Tour Of The Tormentors MMVI. Confirmation/information is needed. Other musicians credited as having worked on the recording are Boz Boorer (guitar), Jesse Tobias (guitar), Gary Day (bass) and Michael Farrell (keyboards, piano and organ). To add to the confusion, a first version of this song is rumoured to have been recorded at the end of 2004 alongside material meant to be used for b-sides on the "I Like You" single (which ended up being shelved). Other songs rumoured to have been recorded at the time are "I'm Playing Easy To Get" and "Noise Is The Best Revenge" (at this point only available as radio sessions).
This song has never been performed specifically for radio, television or the web.
This song has only been done live 4 times by Morrissey, at four concerts from the autumn of 2007 on the Greatest Hits tour. There are no officially released live recordings of the song at this point in time.
No demos or studio outtakes of this song have leaked to the general public at this point in time. |
