"Asian Rut"
(Morrissey/Mark E. Nevin)

The song must have been written shortly before or during the recording session for the "Kill Uncle" album, at Hook End Manor in the autumn of 1990, with producers Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley. Musicians on this recording were Mark E Nevin (guitars), Mark 'Bedders' Bedford (basses), Andrew Paresi (drums and percussion), Nawazish Ali Khan (violin) and Steve Heart and/or Seamus Beaghen (harmonium).

This song has never been performed specifically for radio, television or the web.

The song has been performed live 60 times by Morrissey, all on the 1991 Kill Uncle tour. Considering that a few setlists from 1991 have been lost, it can be reasonably speculated that the song may have been done up to 64 times. It was a fixture on that tour, appearing on the setlist almost every night.
