"America Is Not The World" (Morrissey/Alain Whyte)
The song must have been written during the months preceding the recording of the "You Are The Quarry" album. It is credited as having been recorded in Los Angeles in 2004, but the "You Are The Quarry" sessions were actually split between Sarm Hook End in Berkshire in the autumn of 2003 and Conway Studios in Los Angeles in late 2003 or January 2004, with producer Jerry Finn. Musicians on this song were Boz Boorer (guitar), Alain Whyte (guitar), Gary Day (bass), Dean Butterworth (drums) and Roger Manning (piano).
This song has never been performed specifically for radio, television or the web.
The song has been performed live only 3 times by Morrissey, once on the very first date of the 2004 You Are The Quarry tour, then twice again in June later that year on festival dates. None of these three airings has made it onto an official release at this point in time.
No demos or studio outtakes of this song have leaked to the general public at this point in time. |
