"Will Never Marry" (Morrissey/Stephen Street)
This song must have been written shortly before it was recorded, which was during the session for the "Everyday Is Like Sunday" single b-sides, in March 1988 at Wool Hall Studios in Bath, with producer Stephen Street. Musicians on the recording were Vini Reilly (guitar), Stephen Street (bass) and Andrew Paresi (drums), as well as a string sextet led by John Metcalfe.
This song has never been performed specifically for radio, television or the web.
This song has been done in concert 36 times by Morrissey, perhaps even 39 times if we take into account the fact that information is missing for some setlists of the 1991 Kill Uncle tour, the only tour on which Morrissey sang it. It started the year as a constant fixture, until the Wembley Arena engagement in the middle of July, after which it was only to return for a few scattered dates in Japan in August and New Zealand in early September.
No demos or studio outtakes of this song have leaked to the general public at this point in time. |
