"Mute Witness"
(Morrissey/Clive Langer)

The song must have been written shortly before or during the recording session for the "Kill Uncle" album, at Hook End Manor in the autumn of 1990, with producers Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley. Musicians on this recording were Mark E Nevin (guitars), Mark 'Bedders' Bedford (basses), Andrew Paresi (drums and percussion), and perhaps Nawazish Ali Khan (violin) and Steve Heart and/or Seamus Beaghen (harmonium).

This song has never been performed specifically for radio, television or the web.

This song was only done in concert on the 1991 Kill Uncle tour. It was a setlist fixture until the tour reached Vancouver at the end of October, then dropped for the remaining 9 dates. This means that it was done 54 times, probably even up to 57 times if we consider the fact that information is missing for three setlists during that time.
