"Driving Your Girlfriend Home" (Morrissey/Mark E. Nevin)
The song must have been written shortly before or during the recording session for the "Kill Uncle" album, at Hook End Manor in the autumn of 1990, with producers Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley. Musicians on this recording were Mark E Nevin (guitars), Mark 'Bedders' Bedford (basses), Andrew Paresi (drums and percussion), and perhaps Nawazish Ali Khan (violin) and Steve Heart and/or Seamus Beaghen (harmonium). Back vocals supplied by Morrissey friend Linder.
This song has never been performed specifically for radio, television or the web.
This song has been performed live 16 times by Morrissey, possibly even 17 times considering that one setlist information from the end of 1991 has been lost. It was added to the set very late into the 1991 Kill Uncle tour and remained there until the end of that year.
No demos or studio outtakes of this song have leaked to the general public at this point in time. |
