This was overall a very good concert. The band was in a very good mood. Many gifts were handed to Morrissey during the concert, including an Oscar Wilde book that he danced with during "Still Ill". The singer disappeared backstage on a few occasions. Once he returned holding a sign. During the encore he announced "Hand In Glove" while the next planned song was "Bigmouth Strikes Again". Embarrassed, he walked off, leaving the band to do "Bigmouth Strikes Again" as an instrumental. He came back to do "Hand In Glove" as a second encore.

The Smiths spent the few days before this show in the parking lot behind the hall, rehearsing and hanging out.

There is confusion about the bootleg recordings for this date. One audience recording which has been traded on compact disc and on the internet for many years is obviously from the same show (same banter, same musical differences) as another recording commonly circulated under the 31 July 1986 Toronto date. After extensive research it appears that these recordings are all from Toronto and not London.

There is or was a recording of this concert out there, but at the time being it is not being shared and may actually have been lost.

Do you have information about this concert? Or do you own an uncirculated recording of it? If yes please contribute and get credited.
