8 March 1984 Town Hall, Middlesbrough Hand In GloveThis concert went down quite well despite problems with troublemakers in the crowd at the beginning of the show. Morrissey even had to warn the audience after "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now": "Look, this is very jolly but, anybody who spits, we're going home to bed, so pppttt...". As an introduction to "Still Ill", Morrissey shouted the song's title fast and loudly. "This Night Has Opened My Eyes" was introduced with the words "And this is where things get terribly serious". After the song Morrissey enquired "Does anybody have anything to say?" After "What Difference Does It Make?", Morrissey shouted "Goodbye!" then the Smiths left stage. They returned for a one-song encore of "Reel Around The Fountain", then left again. They soon gave in to demand and returned for two more songs. At the end of the first one "You've Got Everything Now", the band didn't even pause, they segued straight into the final number, "Handsome Devil". Tickets were £3.50.
