30 September 1983 University Of Birmingham, Birmingham You've Got Everything NowEntrance was free. Support was provided by Flesh For Lulu. This concert appears to have not been a great success, but the Smiths still played two encores. Morrissey wasn't very talkative. He didn't even introduce songs, except for "Hand In Glove" on both occasions when it was performed. In "You've Got Everything Now", Morrissey changed a line to "A friendship sadly lost... it could be true, it could be false". When the Smiths returned to the stage for the first encore, Morrissey introduced "These Things Take Time" with the line "More? Greedy little devils... do you know that these things take time?". After the latter number the band didn't waste any time. The song was barely finished that Morrissey shouted "Hand In Glove!" in a high-pitched voice and the Smiths went into a second helping of their first single. Before going into the second encore Morrissey asked again "More?". For the first time, he didn't yelp after the line "Time is against me now" in "Accept Yourself". He sang it the way it had just been recorded for release on the upcoming "This Charming Man" single.
