This is an alphabetical list of every song officially and commercially released by the Smiths. For each title, a list of different available versions is given, with their lengths. Then each version is followed by a list of releases on which they are available.
Song versions only available on promos are also listed. However promos are not listed as sources for a version if the latter is also available on a commercial release. Unreleased songs or versions that have leaked on the internet are also included (live material excepted).

The Boy With The Thorn In His Side (single version) {3:17}
(album version) {3:17}
The differences between the single and album versions are very subtle. They are best described by Simon Goddard, author of the essential "The Songs That Saved Your Life": "[The album version] features extra guitar overdubs as well as an additional string arrangement [...]. The two versions are easily distinguishable at 0:07; a symphonic surge pre-empts Morrissey's opening line on "The Queen Is Dead" version, whereas the original single mix bears only the plain marimba three-note scale up."
