1 In the song's video, the first line is written down on a blackboard as "There are some bad people on the right". It does actually sound like he singing those words in the song's first ever live performance in Wolverhampton in 1988.
2 In Wolverhampton in 1988 as well as on the Greatest Hits tour in 2007 Morrissey extended this line to "have you ever felt had?".
3 Occasionally on the Kill Uncle tour, Morrissey actually sang this line as "You wonder why I'm only half ashamed".
