4 July 2009 Tallinn (Estonia), Tallinn Rock Café
This Charming ManMorrissey's first ever concert in Estonia left everyone happy. Morrissey was in top form, theatrical and playful. He was obviously enjoying himself. He reached out to the very welcoming audience by greeting them with "tere" (Estonian for hello) and thanking them with "aitäh" (thanks). The setlist saw the return of "I Just Want To See The Boy Happy". The song was being played for the first time in 2009. "You Just Haven't Earned It Yet, Baby" and "Best Friend On The Payroll" also returned, at the expense of "How Can Anybody Possibly Know How I Feel", "Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others" and "Sorry Doesn't Help". Morrissey made quite a few references to Tallinn throughout the evening. In "I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris " he changed "Paris" to "Tallinn". He mentioned something about noticing that there was a McDonalds in Tallinn's Old Town and that soon a McDonna would be visiting Tallinn as well (Madonna was scheduled to play later in the summer). He then said that he had read that McDonna (as he continuously called her) had said that she didn't know any artists who Michael Jackson hadn't influenced, adding "Either Madonna has a very narrow taste in music... Well, Madonna does have a very narrow taste in music!" This served as an introduction to "The World Is Full Of Crashing Bores ". Before going into "Girlfriend In A Coma" Morrissey joked: "As you can see, we are a death metal band from Finland! And we hate everyone!" Before going into encore "First Of The Gang To Die" he sang acapella "don't you wonder why in Estonia they say, hey you big fat pig", a line from his song "America Is Not The World".
