15 June 2009 Odense (Denmark), Rytmeposten
This Charming ManThis was one on those great Morrissey shows in a small venue. Morrissey was fighting fit and so was the band. Another good thing about small venue is that the energy travels through the audience, front to back, and there were quiet pockets in the crowd. There were no changes in the setlist. When Morrissey stepped onto the stage, he was met with one collective thundering roar of joy, something which clearly pleased the man who had a big smile on as he greeted and thanked the audience in Danish. At some point he told the Danish crowd "We hate bacon but we are very pleased to be in Denmark!" One audience member did, however, get a bit too excited during "Seasick, Yet Still Docked", shouting "you're a wanker" at Morrissey who initially responded with a gentle "shut up". He didn't say it in a very nasty way but still seemed to feel a bit bad about it. He went on to bark the rest of the verse he was in the middle of when interrupted, seemingly in an attempt to communicate to the crowd that perhaps he'd been a bit too snappy. However, he had no need to feel bad about anything because seconds later, the same person who'd annoyed everybody with his shouting was now bothering the people around him. As a result, Morrissey stopped the song and asked if the audience wanted him to continue and, of course, everybody screamed with passion and fear that he was about to leave that they did. Instead of resuming the song, however, both Morrissey and Boz moved to the edge of the stage looking somewhat outraged. Morrissey told the person who'd made all the raucous that nobody wanted him there and that neither he nor anybody else was interested in his kind of behaviour. Everybody was shouting "Throw him out!". Bouncers escorted him out of the venue as the crowd loudly chanted "Morrissey! Morrissey! Morrissey!".
