19 October 2007 Royal Oak (MI), Royal Oak Music Theatre
How Soon Is Now?This concert went down well, but it wasn't the most memorable show of the tour. Morrissey was good and the crowd was generally appreciative. About ten crowd surfers got close to the stage, but only two or three actually made it on stage. The setlist was very similar to the one from the previous show in Waukegan. "Dear God Please Help Me" was replaced with "Life Is A Pigsty", and "How Soon Is Now?" and "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before" were reversed in their respective positions as main set opener and closer. It was very smoky in the venue so at some point Morrissey jokingly said that he was going to have a cigarette. During the customary introduction of the band he mentioned how his drummer Matt Walker and bassist Solomon Walker were from nearby Chicago, and enunciated the city's name with a faux Chicago accent. Fans from Detroit had also traveled in great numbers to see this show, so at some point he made a negative comment about Kid Rock (who happens to be from Detroit) being on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Morrissey also commented on a feud between Ellen Degeneres and an animal shelter she had adopted a dog from, taking the side of the animal shelter, obviously.
Do you have information about this concert? Or do you own an uncirculated recording of it? If yes please contribute and get credited.
