Additional information:
Given the success of "How Soon Is Now?" as a b-side on the "William, It Was Really Nothing" single, the EEC, Holland and Spain decided to release the song as an a-side instead of "William, It Was Really Nothing".

In 1985, "How Soon Is Now" was finally re-released as an a-side in many countries where it had already been released as a b-side, such as England, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and Portugal, but with new artwork and b-sides. This release is covered here.

"How Soon Is Now?" was also released in the USA twice, first in late 1984 on 12" and then in mid 1985 with "Shakespeare's Sister" as a double a-side 7". These are covered here.

Artwork information:
The artwork for the Holland and EEC singles is the same as for the usual "William, It Was Really Nothing" single, but the photo is lilac tinted instead of green. In Spain, the cover colour is the expected green in Spain, but the layout is that of the UK "William, It Was Really Nothing" 12". Releases in Spain were usually on 12", this must be the explanation why the very few 7" released there (this one and Sandie Shaw's "Hand In Glove") used the 12" artwork

Etchings on vinyl:
None.

Promotion:
UK/Holland: Copies of the Holland 7" were distributed for promotion with a Scott Piering plugger sticker on the back, which hints that it might have been distributed and promoted in the UK despite the availability of the "William, It Was Really Nothing" single over there.

Spain: A promo version of the 7" has black text printed over a white label. It was slipped inside the usual stock sleeve. (Note: it is possible that there is no stock version of this single, just a promo one).
