At this point in time "Kill Uncle" is one of Morrissey's least appreciated albums. It probably isn't the best one to discover Morrissey by, but is still worth owning for some great gems. Most of the blame for the lack of appreciation must go to the producers and musicians. For many fans, the album is too feeble and quirky in its arrangements, a problem Morrissey corrected immediately by forming a band who rearranged the songs before taking them on Morrissey's highly successful first solo tour.
