Promotion:
UK and Europe: Five different cd-rs were sent to radio for promotion of this single (Attack ATKPX003). They all come in a paper insert slipped inside a plastic envelope. Three of them feature only the title track while the other two include all four songs featured across the various formats. Here's a list of variations:

  • 1 track, white insert with mostly black text; pink title in Old English font
  • 1 track, white insert with mostly black text; pink title in plain serif font
  • 1 track, black insert with all pink text; title in Old English font
  • 4 tracks, white insert with mostly black text; pink track listing in Old English font
  • As above but layout of text on the disc is different

UK: A promotional VHS videocassette (PAL format) of the title track was also used for promotional purposes in the UK. An alternation one-track VHS features the 'US Version' of the video, presumably also for the UK market.

Ireland: The UK/Europe cd-single was sent to radios with a BMG Ireland sticker giving the single's release date.

Israel: The UK/Europe cd-single was sent to radios with promo stickers in hebrew on the front of the case. Japan: The UK/Europe cd-single was sent to radio with a sticker on the front featuring promotional information in Japanese.

Sweden: The UK/Europe cd-single was sent to radios with a BMG Sweden artist information sticker. The title track was included on a BMG various artists sampler cd simply titled "BMG Sampler Juli".

USA: Promo cds were produced with the catalogue number ATMDJ85635-2. They have the same front artwork as the stock single. "First Of The Gang To Die" was included on a various artists promo cd/dvd combo titled "Cornerstone vol. 054" (audio only, no video)
