Additional information:
As the title suggests, this album was recorded at London's Earls Court on 18 December 2004. However, although it features mainly this date, when Morrissey's vocals were not the best the recording was patched with segments from other British dates from the same leg of the tour (Glasgow, Birmingham, Brighton and Dublin). Similarly, the chit-chat with fans in the front rows, a few biting comments and the allusions to the upcoming Christmas holiday were dropped or replaced with banter from those other dates. Some songs such as "Shoplifters Of The World Unite" were also slightly sped up.

The UK/Europe LP was released about one year after the cd and has a surprisingly high number of typographical errors in the track listing on the back. Titles were mislabeled as "Munich Air Disaster" (dropping "Subway Train" and "1958"), "The More You Ignore Me" (dropping "...The Closer I Get"), "Big Mouth Strikes Again" (instead of "Bigmouth Strikes Again"), "How Soon Is Now" (without the question mark), "First In The Gang To Die" and "The World Is Full Of Crashing Boars".

Artwork information:
Cover photo taken by Ethan Miller on 17 April 2004 in Las Vegas. The text on the USA and European jewelcase editions is in silver while in some other countries (such as Argentina and Australia), the title is in white. The American and European editions are also available in an oversized LP-style sleeve with the title embossed and chrome (view at left of this page). The Brazilian edition in LP-style sleeve has the title in silver, but is not embossed.

Promotion:
UK/Europe: Two similar cds were produced to promote this album. Both are numbered ATKPR014. The most common one is slipped inside a card sleeve with similar artwork to the stock edition, but the title is in white on the front and promo-only information is found on the back. The other edition has an insert of the same front artwork with white text, but inside a white border, slipped inside a plastic wallet. The cd itself is black. View both promos in left frame.

Argentina: Promo cds with a "Venta prohibida" warning printed on the label were distributed for promotion. A live version of "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" was included on a various artists radio promo cd numbered PCD541, very likely for promotion of this album.

Australia: The promo cd has minimal text printed on the cd. The sleeve is a generic black card one, with a white sticker on it listing titles.

Canada: "Don't Make Fun Of Daddy's Voice" was included on a Spring 2005 various artists radio sampler. It is assumed that the version of the song was a live one, to promote this live album.

Denmark: A live version of "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" from this album was included on a Spring 2005 Sony/BMG various artists radio sampler.

Japan: Copies of the album were sent to radio for promotion. These have a promo sticker with Japanese text on the back, and promo warning etched around the cd's inner ring.

Thailand: Promo cds have PROMOTION ONLY NOT FOR SALE etched around the cd's inner ring and the barcode punched with a hole.

USA: Promotion was done via a one-track promo cd of "How Soon Is Now?" (ATMDJ-85714-2; view left), or a cd-r of the full album with generic artwork. The live "How Soon Is Now?" was also included on a various artists combo cd/dvd set titled "Cornerstone volume 060".
