The quotes are from all four members of The Smiths, but mostly of Morrissey. They are arranged by subject, so contradicting quotes are often found one next to the other. Many beautiful photos of the band by Kevin Cummins.

The Smiths by Mick Middles Paperback published by Omnibus Press, 1985 ISBN: 0-7119-0693-9 First Smiths biography put together by this Manchester journalist. Beware, it is not very informative, and contains quite a few inaccuraciess. This book was published again a few years later under the new title "The Smiths, The Complete Story" (see next).

The Smiths - The Complete Story by Mick Middles Paperback published by Omnibus Press, 1988 ISBN: 0-7119-1427-3 This is a second edition of the first Smiths biography by same author previously known under the title "The Smiths". This edition includes the part of the Smiths story that came after the publication of the first edition, including the break-up of the band. It is still full of inaccuracies.
